Are you
looking for a specialty product along the lines of a retaining wall
module? Maybe you want something a little different from the
retaining walls out there today. Here are some of the many reasons
to choose GeoStone.
Pros
Cons
Open core design allows for
minimal material cost for manufacturer.
Simplicity of design allows for
minimal breakage (no tails, handles, or lips!).
1 size = 1 mould
Open core design utilizing Rock
Interlock for connection eliminates need for pins or rods.
Landscape block can be modified
to make easy, attractive outside corners with a look like no other
system (click
here to see details).
By not relying on lips, pins, or
rods for connection, the GeoStone system can have any degree of
acceptable batter.
By not relying on lips, pins, or
rods for connection, the GeoStone system is completely unhindered to
make inside and outside radii.
Ease of Installation is what
GeoStone was designed around. The GeoStone system was invented
and designed by a professional Segmental Retaining Wall
installer and perfected through engineered tests.
The simplicity of GeoStone's
design leaves out all unnecessary appendages such as tails, handles,
or lips therefore cutting down on the weight. This same
advantage is accomplished by GeoStone's large open core. Less
weight is an advantage when it comes to shipping, loading / unloading,
and installing.
GeoStone Licenses are available
in a lot of areas as we are a young and rapidly growing company.
The profit margins on making a
product like GeoStone are much higher than on your basic masonry
block.
Open core design causes more
material cost in the form of an extra 1/2 cubic foot of rock per
Standard module and 1/4 cubic foot per Landscape module. However
this does allow for greater drainage properties and higher connection
strength.
Does not have pins, lips, or
rods for mechanical connection. The connection of rock interlock
is one of the most powerful forms connection and is utilized by most
of the SRW systems on the market. As a matter of fact, some of
our largest competitors have opened up the cores on their modules
after seeing our success. We have tests that show the power of
Rock Interlock and have published them on the following web page (connection
tests).
GeoStone is a young company and
not as well established as some of our competitors. This means
that we will work harder on a more personal level to help your company
achieve success.
Being an authorized GeoStone
Manufacturer is only an email or phone call away.
Just a little four page document that sums up what we feel is some of
the more important things you will need to know about retaining walls.
The Hardscape Handbook shows actual designs of structural walls as well as
3-D renderings of Stairs and radii. There is also a step by step
process of how to build both a residential non-load bearing wall as well
as a commercial load bearing wall. We encourage you to click the
link above to download and view before taking on your retaining wall
project.
These types of walls are commonly referred to as Retaining Walls or more specifically Segmental Retaining Walls, Modular Wall Systems, MSE Walls or Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls which usually fall under the CSI Codes of 02830 & 02832.
